Our weekly radio program, "Music & Memories", is broadcast every Sunday morning at 8 a.m. over KASM radio, 1150AM. Each week we recognize those who died in the coming week of the previous year, along with inspirational music.

Invitations to listen are sent out to each family we have served about a week before the program airs. But now we are able to post the script for this coming Sunday right here.

We invite you to have your loved one remembered on the program. Just fill out this form. Remember to send us the name and date of death about ten days ahead of time so that we can get them on the program the week before the anniversary date.

Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday Apr 13, 2025 Covering the deaths from Apr 13-19, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. As we prepare for our Easter celebration, we also may feel anticipation and anxiety. Whether you're new to your grief pain or your loss has been a while, we always miss those we love. Holidays have a way of reminding us how much we miss our loved ones. Celebrations can be easier on our hearts if we include those we've lost. Remember, if we don't share the memories and stories of our loved ones whom we've lost, they die a second death. Planning ahead emotionally is a healthy way to eliminate the anxiety. Know there may be sadness, but love and laughter will follow. With the recent rain, spring is starting to perk up. "April showers bring May flowers". This program is dedicated to the memory of: Allen Bayer who died April 7, 2005 Henry A. Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday Apr 6, 2025 Covering the deaths from Apr 6-12, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. Wow: April is certainly here!! Between mother nature and our grief we would like to think we're in control but we're not! Weather forecasts can change within minutes as our grief pain can too. One day or moment, all is well and the next moment we're overtaken by memories and emotions. How well did you recover from the weather? Our grief journey runs parallel to our normal life before the grief pain. How you reacted to life before the loss of your loved one then, hasn't changed now; it has only become a little more magnified. April brings new life and new beginnings!! Our grief pain provides a new normal and perspective on how we view our life and the world around us. Sharing how you feel with a trusted friend helps you gain control over your emotions and helps you move forward to personal growth. As mother nature's attitude came and went, our grief pain will too. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. April begins on Tuesday and as we anticipate its arrival we are preparing for warmer weather as is the natural process. Grief too is a natural process we experience after the loss of a loved one. As we move forward into our April grief, let's focus on finding moments of Joy to help provide a sense of perspective during your grief journey. Focus on the new birth of spring flowers, trees and nature in general. It's also good for our well-being to get out and absorb that sunshine. Other ways of coping may be music, poetry or other forms of art. Be you! Be gentle with you and allow those love tears to flow and laughter to overtake you. This, my friends, is healthy grief! Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday Mar 23, 2025 Covering the deaths from Mar 23-29, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. Whether you're new to your grief pain or have been traveling the road of grief for a while; when it comes to grieving, there is no time limit. It's important to remember how individual grief can be, especially in a family unit. Your relationship with your loved one who has died, determines the pain of your loss. The deeper the love the deeper the pain is often heard and is very true. We have now entered our spring season and with the changing of the seasons we are reminded of how our life changed after losing our loved one. Knowing, as with spring days becoming brighter, your grief pain will too. Continue to share those stories and memories as you move forward on your journey. This program is dedicated to the memory of: Amber Elberling who died March 21, 2013 Carl “Carle” Lemke who died March 23, 2019 Mathilda Schneider who died March 23, 1996 Catherine Geise who died March 24, 2003 Ollie Vornbrock who died March 24, 2002 Eugene “Gene” Gergen who died March 25, 2024 Rose Mayer who died March 25, 2008 Ralph Roske who died March 25, 2003 Rose Stoermann who died March 25, 2019 Celestine Fischbach who died March 25, 2018 Margaret “Peggy” Osfalg who died March 25, 2016 Anna Wolney who died March 25, 1985 Joseph Frie who died March 25, 1952 Diane Kunstleben who died March 26, 2001 Milford Sabrowsky who died March 27, 2019 Catherine Geise who died March 27, 2003 Bernard Stoermann who died March 27, 1995 Alphonse Meyer who died March 27, 1975 Stephen “Steve” Mayers who died March 28, 2023 Herbert “Herb” Hoppe who died March 28, 2018 Teresa Schulte who died March 28, 2010 Mary Elfering who died March 28, 1999 Shirley Worden who died March 28, 1999 Rosella Hanauer who died March 28, 1993 Steve Morgel who died March 28, 1993 Archie Meemken who died March 29, 2024 Raymond “Ray” Sunderman who died March 29, 2023 Alice Langenberger who died March 29, 2005 We encourage you as family and friends to show that you care by remembering these families, this week, with a phone call, a card, or a visit.

This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. With the warmer weather of March our anticipation grows for the migrating birds to come home. The first Robin, Bluebird, Swallows and Killdeer can spark some joy. Moments of Joy bursts are so important as we travel down our road of grief pain. Along with Joy bursts we can also experience Grief bursts which can trigger out of nowhere when we hear a certain song, see something or feel something that takes us back to the memories of our loved one. Celebrate these Joy and Grief bursts! They are a friendly reminder that we loved and were loved! It's also a great time to get out and soak up that sunshine! Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday Mar 9, 2025 Covering the deaths from Mar 9-15, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. Today begins the daylight savings time turn. One just needs to watch the weather to get a good idea of what grieving the loss of a loved one is like. One day sunshine and warmth and the next day, cold, snow and wind! Up and down, happy and sad moments can mimic the weather. With daylight savings time we gain longer days of light and sunshine! We control our feelings and our mood; and with that being said, the weather can control our emotions and mood as well. However, we still should be the one in control! When we're able to express those feelings of how we feel, we can keep the sunshine bright no matter what mother nature says! This program is dedicated to the memory of: Alverna Neis who died March 1, 1992 Alfred Rothstein who died March 3, 2010 Truma Rasmusen who died March 9, 2023 Dolores Imdieke who died March 9, 2012 Dorothy Bromeling who died March 9, 2004 Michael Miller who died March 9, 1980 Ella Emma Fromm who died March 9, 1977 Melvin Edward Fiedler who died March 10, 2024 Viola Bischof who died March 10, 2005 Marilyn Wolbeck who died March 10, 1996 Henry Sand who died March 10, 1977 Irene Kohorst who died March 10, 1947 Arlene Arnzen who died March 11, 2023 Judy Schmidtz who died March 11, 2018 Leona Schneider who died March 11, 2017 Sylvester Jonas who died March 11, 1984 James Volk who died March 12, 2024 Judith “Judy” Vogt who died March 12, 2023 Christine Stadtherr who died March 12, 1992 Kenneth “Kenny” Frericks who died March 13, 2012 Leonard Rooney who died March 13, 1997 Ken Euteneuer who died March 14, 2024 Lambert Nathe who died March 14, 2010 LeRoy Spychala who died March 14, 2007 George Langenberger who died March 14, 1987 James “Jim” Rehkamp who died March 15, 2024 Renee Muehlenhardt who died March 15, 2023 Robert “Bob” Brenny who died March 15, 2018 We encourage you as family and friends to show that you care by remembering these families, this week, with a phone call, a card, or a visit.

Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday Mar 2, 2025 Covering the deaths from Mar 2-8, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. March is here and with it comes spring weather. The weather in March can be unpredictable as with our grief. The ups and downs, good days and bad days along with grief bursts. Grief bursts are those moments when all is well in your day and out of nowhere comes a song, expression or thought of your loved one and you become a puddle. This is normal as we travel forward on our grief journey. For a moment, stop and look at your thumb. As everyone's thumbprint is unique and individual, so is your grief journey. There are no rules as to how to grieve. As long as you're not hurting yourself or other's it's your journey. Let’s enjoy March together! This program is dedicated to the memory of: Stan Athmann who died February 28, 1999 Tom Deters who died March 1, 2015 Loretta Hinnenkamp who died March 2, 1980 Josephine “Dude/Jo” Leko who died March 3, 2024 Julian “Sonny” Goerdt who died March 3, 2024 Audrey Welinski who died March 3, 2021 Della Thull who died March 3, 2003 Jerry Zietz who died March 3, 1998 Paul Klemm who died March 3, 1996 Courtney Cunningham who died March 4, 1996 Aaron Welle who died March 5, 2021 Jim Zehowski who died March 5, 2019 Verena Nathe who died March 5, 2015 Lydia Mahn who died March 5, 1999 Ron Braun who died March 5, 1993 Veronica Middendorf who died March 5, 1986 Frances Stangl who died March 6, 2024 Bernard “Bernie” Liestman who died March 6, 1990 Waldo Fauskee who died March 7, 2021 Curtis Rothstein who died March 7, 2019 Steve “Stevie” Reber who died March 7, 2019 Elizabeth Rose Hemmesch who died March 7, 2013 Evelyn Carstenson who died March 7, 2006 Donald “Don” Meyer who died March 8, 2024 Valerian “Val” Chapp who died March 8, 2011 Julia Trettel who died March 8, 1997 We encourage you as family and friends to show that you care by remembering these families, this week, with a phone call, a card, or a visit.

This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. There are not any other words to express "Where does time go?" and yet we hear these words often. It's now March! As with this phrase we too have wondered, but now after losing someone we loved deeply we know that time goes on. We have also learned that with time we can heal. Another truth we have learned is that time is precious; every moment of time is a gift! Your loved one would want you to find joy in each moment. Are you living each moment and creating special memories or are you allowing your grief to shadow those precious moments? We always have choices. This program is dedicated to the memory of: Gertrude Welle who died February 18, 2002 Estella Niewind who died February 18, 1989 Doris Landowski who died February 23, 2008 Ben Westendorf who died February 23, 1993 Christ Wander who died February 23, 1992 Leo Rooney who died February 23, 1985 Gerald “Jerry” Frericks who died February 24, 2024 Butch Fietek who died February 24, 2020 Gary Preme Primus who died February 24, 2019 Edward Bursey who died February 24, 2016 Angie Workman who died February 24, 2016 Frank Pelzer who died February 24, 2012 Michael “Mike” Ellering who died February 25, 2023 Cynthia Majeski who died February 25, 2009 Hooky Kuhl who died February 25, 2008 John Geschwill who died February 25, 1980 Rosemary “Rosie” Ritter who died February 26, 2024 Joseph “Joe” Boecker who died February 26, 2023 David “Dave” Schwanke who died February 26, 2020 Edmund Gillitzer who died February 26, 1990 Sister Julitta Hoppe who died February 26, 1971 David Heim who died February 27, 2024 Nick Czeck who died February 27, 2001 Clara Zenzen who died February 27, 1991 DeWayne Dirschel who died February 28, 2024 Duane Herzog who died February 28, 2017 Valeria Mareck who died February 28, 2009 Rose Court who died February 29, 1996 Marie “Mayme” Imdieke who died March 1, 2020 Mark Schumer who died March 1, 2020 Henry “Harry” Court who died March 1, 1979 We encourage you as family and friends to show that you care by remembering these families, this week, with a phone call, a card, or a visit.

Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday February 16, 2025 Covering the deaths from Feb 16-22, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. President’s Day is tomorrow and as we celebrate our Presidents, let’s not forget that they too are human, and many have experienced loss of loved ones to death. Two of the many, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt, come to mind. President Lincoln mourned the losses of his two sons; Edward aged 4 and William aged 11, while he was in office. President Roosevelt's first wife died before he was elected and a son who died at the age of 21. Who we are and the place we fill in the world doesn't stop death, pain or grief. They too felt the stabbing heart pain of loss, were depressed, sad, melancholy and even angry. All the emotions we've felt they too have felt! In the words of Abraham Lincoln... "In this sad world of ours, sorrow comes to all…it comes with bitterest agony…Perfect relief is not possible except with time. You cannot realize that you will ever feel better…and yet this is a mistake. You are sure to be happy again. To know this, which is certainly true, will make you some less miserable now. I have experienced enough to know what I say." This program is dedicated to the memory of: Virginia Shay who died February 5, 2016 Dennis Shay who died February 6, 2016 Eunice Thell Oswald who died February 7, 2017 Bernice Kluempke who died February 13, 2020 Ann Gominsky who died February 15, 2015 Edwin Wieber who died February 15, 2003 Alfred Slivnik who died February 16, 2020 LeRoy Schulte who died February 16, 2000 Norbert Hiltner who died February 16, 1995 Bill Goebel who died February 16, 1972 Gene Braegelmann who died February 17, 2018 Alvina “Sandy” Koglin who died February 17, 2010 Paul Kuklok who died February 17, 2009 Agnes Hiltner who died February 17, 1997 Donald Gertken who died February 17, 1993 Mary McKenney who died February 17, 1976 Allen Taufen who died February 17, 1961 Donald “Donnie” Lenarz who died February 18, 2024 Lorene “Lori” Zierden who died February 18, 2024 Jeanette Barth who died February 18, 2023 Ronnie McKenny who died February 18, 2002 Alma Schulte who died February 18, 2021 Marilyn Borgerding who died February 18, 2018 Randy Vossen who died February 18, 1996 John Bischof who died February 18, 1974 Jane Martin who died February 19, 2023 Rose Schaefer who died February 19, 2019 Peter Van Beck who died February 20, 2024 Al Sanoski who died February 20, 2021 Gregory Thomas who died February 20, 2006 Dolores Maleska who died February 21, 2024 Judie Hennes who died February 21, 2020 Hubert Sunderman who died February 21, 2013 Linda Paavola who died February 22, 2023 Richard Janssen who died February 22, 2022 Harold “Harry” Bassett who died February 22, 2013 Leona Heying who died February 22, 2000 Edwin Hiltner who died February 22, 2000 We encourage you as family and friends to show that you care by remembering these families, this week, with a phone call, a card, or a visit.

Music & Memories Broadcast for Sunday February 9, 2025 Covering the deaths from Feb 9-15, 2025 Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. The month of February brings Valentine’s Day, the day of Love! When we've lost a loved one to death, they seem to always be on our mind and most definitely in our hearts. With the upcoming holiday of Love, how will you celebrate the love of the one you lost? Some folks don't celebrate this holiday at all and that's ok. Other ideas may be to take hot chocolate and cupcakes out to the cemetery or meet up with family and friends to celebrate the love you shared.
