Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories.
 
This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program on KASM. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one.
 
Mid-May brought us warmer weather, rain, flowers, and birdsong. As with our grief, May is full of surprises. Mother’s Day is past and Memorial Day is approaching. Memorial Day is a friendly reminder to remember and celebrate our loved ones. Whether by placing flowers on their grave, storytelling or just remembering in your quiet time. Our humanness sometimes thinks we can outrun the pain of loss! Running from the reality that our loved ones have gone to a better place only causes more pain! Please be encouraged to stop, breathe, acknowledge the pain of loss, and allow that pain to walk with you. The pain is guaranteed to become softer and you are free to celebrate your love of them, their love of you and share those memories and stories!
