Good morning and welcome to Music & Memories. 
 
This is Linda Sue, and I am the grief specialist at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. It is my pleasure to bring you this week’s program. This program is our way of reaching out to help families deal with those difficult days surrounding the death anniversary of a loved one. 
 
Happy New Year! A new year brings new beginnings and new memory making. After the holidays we always experience a natural low. Preparing and anticipating the holidays has kept our grief pain at a somewhat standstill and now the grief pain is back full blast! With the new year comes an overwhelming urge to look far ahead. With grief we should back up and take one day at a time. One can certainly fill their yearly calendar but don't allow it to overwhelm you! Always try to celebrate the here and now; the moment and your anxiety will be minimal. Continue to share those memories and tell those stories and hey, it's time to create more memories and stories!
