Wilma M. Ebensteiner, age 91 of Sauk Centre, died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 30 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. James Statz officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and at church 1 hour prior to the mass on Friday. The Sauk Centre Seniors will pray at 5 p.m. followed by the Christian Mothers and St. Margaret's Mission at 7 p.m.
Wilma Marie Hansen was born August 2, 1920 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to William and Clara (Huber) Hansen. She graduated from Sauk Centre High School. She married Helmuth Paul on August 22, 1943 at Our Lady of the Angels. The couple farmed in Lyman Prairie near Sauk Centre until 1976. After Helmuth passed away in 1977, Wilma moved to town. She married Roman Ebensteiner on January 11, 1985 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church. Wilma enjoyed all types of music, dancing, especially square dancing, gardening, canning, tending to her flowers, quilting, crossword puzzles, traveling, following the Minnesota Twins, and crafts, including ceramics and scrapbooking.
Wilma was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Resurrection Choir, Sauk Centre Seniors, Lyman Prairie Homemakers, St. Ann's and St. Margaret's Mission Groups, St. Michael's Hospital Auxiliary, and was a leader of the Gopher Prairie 4H Club.
Survivors include her sons, Gerald (Margaret) Paul of Bloomington, Grant (Jeane) Paul of Bloomington, and Dennis (Beverly) Paul of Osakis; step-children, Jacqueline (Bruce) Hegg of Sauk Centre and Michael (Geri) Ebensteiner; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; sister, Winnifred Shull of Olympia, Washington.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husbands, Helmuth Paul on July 6, 1977 and Roman Ebensteiner on April 7, 2009; parents, William and Clara Hansen; granddaughter, Kiersa Paul; and sister, Evelyn Thielen.
