Wilbert J. "Bud" Lohrke, age 85 of Minneapolis, formerly of New Munich, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at the University Good Samaritan Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich with Rev. Roger Klassen, OSB officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Military honors were provided by the Melrose Veteran Honor Squad.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich.Wilbert "Bud" Lohrke was born November 1, 1922 in Long Prairie, Minnesota to William and Clara (Thom) Lohrke. Bud served in the Navy during World War II. After his medical discharge, he worked for the railroad company in Little Falls. Bud also was the owner of the Red Rooster in Grey Eagle. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich. Bud enjoyed going to the casino and also liked fishing.
Survivors include his six children, Gary, Judy, Janet, Patty, Mark, and Richard; grandchildren and great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Clara Lohrke; brothers, Hillard Lohrke and Clifford Lohrke; and sisters, Claribel Betts, Nathalie Lindroth, and Alvira Kienberger.
Serving as casket bearers will be David Kingston, Jake Kingston, Mitch Kingston, Ron Kingston , Jim Kingston, and Ross Bundy. Scripture bearer will be Taylor Kingston and cross bearer will be Brittney Kingston.
