Wayne Schmeisser

Wayne J. Schmeisser, age 67 of Sauk Centre, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, January 4 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with Pastor Kyle Peterson officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 417 of Little Sauk. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.

Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Wayne Schmeisser was born August 20, 1943 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Andrew and Emma (Johnson) Schmeisser. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a life-long resident of Sauk Centre and had been employed by Pearson Ford, Culligan, Sauk Centre Excavating, Berghuis Construction, and Kohorst Beverage. He had worked for Boyer Motor Company for 30 years, retiring in 2006. Wayne really enjoyed car racing.

He was a member of American Legion Post 417 of Little Sauk.

He is survived by two brothers, Dale (Dorothy) Schmeisser of St. Cloud and Gary Schmeisser of Upland, California; nephews and niece, Daryl, Cindy, and Bobby.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Serving as casket bearers will be Harry Schramel, Joe Wyffels, Harold Borgmann, Will Otte, Terry Merten, and Gene Gettel.
