Warren C. Mobeck, age 89, formerly of Sauk Centre, died Saturday, April 25, 2015 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
A private service and inurnment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Sauk Centre.
Warren Charles Mobeck was born on a farm south of North Branch, Minnesota and a graduate of Dedon Country School and Chisago High School in Lindstrom, Minnesota. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy V-12 officers training, served in the Philippines on the USS LTC 943 during World War II, and was discharged USN LJG. On December 6, 1952 he married Doris Anderson at Zion Lutheran Church in Chisago City. His career with Standard Oil began in Roseville and he was then transferred to Sauk Centre, where he retired as Terminal Supervisor.
As a young man he hunted, fished, and played fast pitch softball (first base). He was a life-long gardener, knew birds, nature and family history, loved crossword puzzles, libraries, facts and trivia, walks, and his family.
Warren was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre, American Legion Post 67, and was a past member of the Sauk Centre Library Board.
He is survived by daughter, Jane Mobeck Wilson; son, Tom (Mary) Mobeck; five grandchildren, Graham Wilson, Grace Wilson, Robert (Emily) Mobeck, Timothy Mobeck, and Peter Mobeck; sister-in-law, Mary Mobeck; nieces and nephews.
Warren was preceded in death by parents, Charles A. and Anna Lund Mobeck; brother, Bill Mobeck; and wife, Doris Mobeck.
