Virginia A. Kilanowski, 87 of Sauk Centre, died Monday, March 10, 2008 at St. Michael's Nursing Home, Sauk Centre.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish Prayers will be 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Virginia Kilanowski was born Jan. 21, 1921 in Ward Township, Todd County, MN to Martin W. and Marie (Havel) Motl. She married Edward M. Kilanowski on Nov. 27, 1943 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Browerville. They farmed in Ward Township, Todd County, until selling the farm in 1955. They moved to Long Prairie where she cooked for the Chatter Box Nightclub and the Long Prairie Bakery. In 1969 they moved to Fairy Lake, Sauk Centre, there she worked as a nurse's aide at the Serepta Home. Virginia was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and caring for others.

Survivors include her children, Leroy Kilanowski of Browerville, Sharon (Melvin) Walter of Sauk Centre, David Kilanowski of Lakeland, FL, Roger (Karen) Kilanowski of Madison Lake, and Michael (Theresa) Kilanowski of St. Cloud; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and sister Arvilla (Norman) Beach of Eagle Bend.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward on November 12, 2004; her parents; brothers and sisters, Pearl Sellnow, Alvin Motl, Martin Motl, Larry Motl, Everett Motl, Allen Motl, Pauline Macho, Evelyn Motl, Frank Motl and Stanley Motl.

Serving as casket bearers will be her grandchildren Todd and Troy Walter, Chris, Matthew, Adam, Andrew and Benjamin Kilanowski. Cross bearer will be Tim Walter and scripture bearer will be Jennifer Beehler.
