Violet Friedrichs

Violet E. "Missy" Friedrichs, age 90, of Sauk Centre, died peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2013 at the CentraCare Health Systems Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church in Sauk Centre.

Violet Elnora Wallin was born July 16, 1922 in Birchdale Township, Todd County, Minnesota to Joseph and Mary (Wingert) Wallin. On February 5, 1946 she was united in marriage to Gerard "Bud" Friedrichs at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. The couple farmed in Birchdale Township, Todd County until 1969. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre.

Violet enjoyed playing cards, reading and watching the Minnesota Twins.

Violet is survived by her son, Jerry (Shirley) Friedrichs of Buffalo; daughter-in-law, Nancy Friedrichs of Sauk Centre; six grandchildren, Jeff Friedrichs of Sauk Centre, Don Friedrichs of Sauk Centre, Aaron (Debbie) Friedrichs of Buffalo, Jason (Beth) Friedrichs of West St. Paul, Kacey (Chauncey) Neutgens of Buffalo, and Sarah (Bryan) Trinka of Shoreview; twelve great-grandchildren, Jenna, Tyler, Deserae, Zachary, Austin, Kaylee, Hannah, Ella, Jimmy, George, Clara and Tristan; sisters-in-law, Irene Wallin of Sauk Centre and Fern Friedrichs of Sauk Centre.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Wallin; husband, Gerard "Bud" Friedrichs on January 14, 2009; son, Earl Friedrichs on June 24, 2008; grandchildren, Danny Friedrichs in 1986 and Jenny Friedrichs in 1991; brothers and sisters, Wallace Wallin, Russell Wallin, Viola Sorenson, Vivian Friedrichs, Gladys Proell and Sylvia Sliker.

Serving as casket bearers will be Aaron, Jeff, Don and Jason Friedrichs, Kacey Neutgens and Sarah Trinka. Cross bearer will be Jenna Friedrichs and scripture bearer will be Tyler Friedrichs. Honorary bearers will be her great-grandchildren.
