Viola C. Humbert, age 75, of Grey Eagle died on Sunday, June 20, 2004 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 25 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Inurnment will follow at a later date at the parish cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Christian Mothers and Daughters of Isabella will pray at 4 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Viola Humbert was born on September 18, 1928 in Lake Henry Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Ludwig and Bertha (Miller) Roehrl. She was raised in Melrose. Viola was united in marriage to Wilfred Humbert on July 27, 1946 in Overton, Alabama. They raised their family and also lived in Freeport for over 40 years. She was employed by Sacred Heart School as a cook for many years. Viola loved to fish, play bingo and cards. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include her husband, Wilfred Humbert of Grey Eagle; children, David Humbert of Freeport, Richard Humbert (Lois) of Bloomington, Roger Humbert (Linda) of St. Petersburg, Florida, Jane Collymore (Walter) of Margate, Florida, Cheryl LeClaire (Jesse) of New Munich, Mark Humbert (Mary Jo) of Glenwood, and Terri Dame (Rob) of Largo, Florida; brothers and sisters, Art Roehrl (Pat) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Armella Bueckers of Albany, Melvin Roehrl (Ann) of Melrose, Bertilla Bueckers (Edwin) of Freeport, LaVina Adamski of Littleton, Colorado, Lila Wessel (Valerian) of Buffalo, Elmer Roehrl (Sherri) of Milwaukee, Oregon, Marlin Roehrl (Rita) of Brooklyn Center, Louis Roehrl (Corrine) of St. Cloud, John Roehrl (Charlotte) of Sparta, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ludwig and Bertha Roehrl; and daughter, Marilyn Loev.Serving as casket bearers will be Shannon Humbert, Nathan Humbert, Eric Humbert, Ryan Humbert, Mike LeClaire, Nick LeClaire, Alex Humbert and Paul Humbert.
Serving as cross bearer will be Ben Humbert and scripture bearer will be Brenda Humbert. Gift bearers will be Sunny Hesse and Karla Van Drehle. Allison Humbert and Sommer LeClaire will do the readings. Honorary bearers will be the Christian Mothers.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
