Victor G. "Vic" Bromenschenkel, 87, of Sauk Centre died Sat., Oct. 2nd at St. Michael's Hospital, after a brief illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 6:15 p.m. Monday followed by Knights of Columbus and St. Paul's Catholic Aid at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Victor was born on April 8, 1917 in Sauk Centre to Albert J. and Elizabeth (Meyer) Bromenshenkel. He was united in marriage to Hildegard A. Schley on May 26, 1941 in Sauk Centre. Victor and his wife Hildegard farmed southwest of Sauk Centre. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Bishop Joseph F. Busch Council #4863 Knights of Columbus and Queen of Peace General Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, St. Paul's Catholic Aid, and served on the Stearns County ASCS Committee, the Stearns Coop Electric Assn. Board of Directors, Cooperative Power Assn. Board of Directors, and the Stearns Fair Assn. Board. As a young lad, Vic was a member of Raymond Ashley 4-H Club. He was the first of four family generations to belong to 4-H.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Hildegard Bromenshenkel, of Sauk Centre; children, Gene Bromenshenkel (Carol) of Duluth, Dave Bromenshenkel (Irma) of Sauk Centre, Marilyn Uhlenkamp (Lyle) of Sauk Centre, Linda Clayton (Chuck) of Mazeppa, Larry Bromenshenkel (Dorothy) of Sauk Centre, and Tina Hong (Tom) of Plymouth; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; 11 siblings, Verena Steffes, Robert Bromenshenkel (Elsie), Leonard Bromenshenkel (Leona), Allan Bromenshenkel (Mildred), Irene Trisko (Ray), Jane Meyer (Cyril B.), and Dorothy Bromenshenkel, all of Sauk Centre, Esther Winters of West Union, Mary Gritzmacher Langer (Dan) of Pierz, Evelyn Siegle (Allen) of Long Prairie and Lillian "Tootie" Lucas (Eli) of Eau Claire, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Lawrence Bromenshenkel; and sister, Rita Bromenshenkel.

Casket bearers will be his grandchildren, Benny Stetson, Jr., Brian Uhlenkamp, Steven Bromenshenkel, Lisa Ahrens, David Hong, and Jeffrey Bromenshenkel. Cross bearer will be Michael Bromenshenkel. Scripture bearer will be Kathy Provance.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Family School, Sauk Centre.
