Vicki Fitzgerald

Vicki L. Fitzgerald, age 35 of Eagan, died Sunday, November 8, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 13 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport with Rev. Roger Klassen, OSB officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Parish prayers will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Vicki Lynn Donabauer was born June 8, 1974 in Melrose, Minnesota. She graduated from Apollo High School in St. Cloud. On March 16, 2002 she was united in marriage to Daniel Fitzgerald in St. Cloud. After their marriage, they moved to Fort Knox, Kentucky in 2002, Fort Stewart, Georgia in 2004, and to their current home in Eagan in 2007. Vicki worked as a hair stylist and later became a manager at the Aerial Beauty Supply Store. She enjoyed animals, especially her cat, Tavo. Vicki also liked watching movies, working word finds, going to the Minnesota Twins games, and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel Fitzgerald of Eagan; two step-children, Alyssa and David Fitzgerald; parents, Judy (Roger Meemken) Duclos of Sauk Rapids, Wayne Donabauer of St. Joseph, and David (Amy Barron) Metzger of Lino Lakes; step-brother and step-sister, Jacob and Amanda Metzger, both of Boulder, Colorado; grandparents, Madeline Duclos of Freeport, Virgil and Marty Metzger of Melrose; and many loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry Duclos, Al and Cecelia Donabauer; and cousin, Jack Eveslage.

Serving as casket bearers will be Steve Eveslage, Mike Eveslage, Cameron Domine, Joshua Duclos, William Fitzgerald, and Kirk Eveslage. Cross bearer will be Alyssa Fitzgerald and scripture bearer will be Deb Duclos.
