Veronica M. Van Havermaet, age 84 of Sauk Centre, died unexpectedly Sunday, November 9, 2014 at her home in Birchdale Township, Todd County, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 15 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Jeremy Theis officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Veronica Marie Van Havermaet was born March 29, 1930 in Melrose Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Bernard and Susan (May) Van Havermaet. She was a life-long resident of rural Sauk Centre. She had been a licensed practical nurse at the Melrose Hospital for nearly 30 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Veronica enjoyed artistic endeavors, especially drawing. She was a rock hound, enjoyed searching for agates, and loved to read.
Survivors include brothers and sisters, Lawrence (Lorraine) Van Havermaet of Rochester, Mabel Rousselange of Clearwater, Francis (Sonja) Van Havermaet of St. Francis, Regina Coan of Clearwater and Cecelia Bieringer of Round Prairie; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joseph and Arthur Van Havermaet.
Serving as casket bearers will be Michael Bieringer, Wayne Van Havermaet, Tracy Schroedl, Ramona Thorp, Diane Pallow, and Laura Brown. Lectors will be Laura and Sara Brown and gift bearers will be Ann, Mackenzie, and Brooklyn Holmquist.
