Veronica E. "Fronie" Steinhofer, age 86 of Meire Grove, died Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 2 at St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove with Rev. Tom Becker officiating with Rev. Ken Thielman and Rev. Ron Dockendorf concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church in Meire Grove. Poor Soul's Society, Holy Rosary Society, St. Mary's Society, and the Catholic Order of Foresters will pray at 6 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Veronica Elizabeth Imdieke was born April 20, 1924 in Meire Grove, Minnesota to Bernard and Elizabeth (Haverkamp) Imdieke. She was united in marriage to Joseph Steinhofer on June 5, 1946 at St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove. Fronie was active in mission and quilting work and was a mission officer. She managed the Corpus Christie Chapel for over 40 years. Fronie was a member in the St. John's Choir and was the former secretary for Grove Jolly Jobbers 4-H Club and was active in the 4-H plays when it first began. She enjoyed attending Greg, Myron, and Joe's baseball games and attended many of Greg and Myron's music activities while they were in band. Fronie managed Oak Grove Living Apartments until 2007.
Fronie was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove, Poor Souls Society, Holy Rosary Society, St. Mary's Society, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She loved music, playing the organ, crocheting, sewing, bowling, writing ancestry, and keeping scrapbooks of memorabilia of all of Joe's construction jobs.
Survivors include her sons, Greg (Jean) Steinhofer of St. Augusta and Myron Steinhofer of Avon; granddaughters, Jill (Mike) Tabatt and Jodi Steinhofer; grandsons, Shawn (Jackie) Steinhofer, Jacob (Nicole) Steinhofer, Luke and Jesse Steinhofer; great-grandsons, Riley Stotko, Chaz Steinhofer, Jaxon Steinhofer, and Carter Steinhofer; great-granddaughters, Grace Steinhofer and Emily Stotko; brother, Lawrence Imdieke; and sisters, Rose Meyer and Lorraine Hellermann.
Fronie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Steinhofer on March 19, 2003; parents; son, Gary Steinhofer; brothers, Alphonse Imdieke, Benny Imdieke, Leo Imdieke, and Raphael Imdieke; and sister, Minnie Hagemeier.
