Vernon Schmitz

Vernon J. Schmitz, age 68 of Sauk Centre, died Saturday, March 19, 2005 at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, March 22 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate.

Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesday at the church in Sauk Centre.

Vernon Schmitz was born March 18, 1937 in Todd County, Minnesota to Theodore and Anna (Pauly) Schmitz. He was a resident of the Sauk Centre area nearly all of his life. He had been employed as a welder for many years, including 20 years at WASP in Glenwood. He was a member of American Legion Post 67.

Survivors include a sister, Bea (Joe) Zehrer of Sauk Centre and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Julian, Valerian and infant, Theodore Schmitz; and sister, Amelia Siedow.

Serving as casket bearers will be Jeff and Zack Zehrer, Ted, Ken, Val and Steve Schmitz. Cross bearer will be Rosie Zehrer and scripture bearer will be Tom Zehrer.
