Verena Novack

Verena M. Novack, (Hieserich) age 84, died Wednesday, January 24, 2007.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 31 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Kenneth Thielman officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

Verena was born June 23, 1922 in Melrose, Minnesota to John and Magdelena (Schneider) Hieserich. She was employed as a cashier for Lund's Grocery in Richfield, Minnesota for 25 years, retiring in 1982. Prior to moving to Seattle in the year 2000, she enjoyed travel, music, and decorating.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane Hodiak and son-in-law, John Reuland of Seattle, Washington; sisters, Marie Narkie and Viola Halley of Minneapolis, Leona Ebeling of Cold Spring, and Madeline Green of Eveleth; two grandchildren, Danielle Reuland of McMinnville, Oregon and Joanna Reuland of Stockton, California.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Nicholas Hodiak and Raymond Novack; her parents; brothers, Luverne, Richard, and Arnold Hieserich.

Memorials are preferred, in lieu of flowers, to the American Diabetes Research Foundation.
