Vera M. Olson, 91, of Sauk Centre died peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at the CentraCare Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 24 at Little Sauk - Long Bridge Lutheran Church in rural Sauk Centre with Rev. Steve Hilde officiating. Interment will follow in Long Bridge Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church in Little Sauk Township.
Vera Mae George was born May 10, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur and Emma (Larson) George. On July 27, 1945 she married Wilford Olson in Lucan, Minnesota. The couple lived in Paynesville until 1948 when they moved to Sauk Centre. She was employed at Fingerhut in Sauk Centre for many years. Vera was a member of Long Bridge Lutheran Church and the Little Sauk Legion Auxiliary.
She enjoyed watching T.V., crossword puzzles, and word finds.
Vera is survived by her children, Randy Olson of Sauk Centre, Clifford (Carol) Olson of Westminister, California, LeRoy Olson of Long Prairie, Edith Mayers of Sauk Centre, George (Susan) Olson of Long Prairie, and Debra (Ken) Olson of Hemet, California; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris (Wayne) Sexton of Bloomington, Indiana.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilford Olson on August 18, 1989; sons, Richard Olson on July 10, 1967 and Thomas Olson on February 20, 1988; and sister, Frances Warner.
Serving as casket bearers will be Albert Koppen, James Melin, LeRoy Kramer, Keith Olson, Kevin Olson, and Dan Olson.
