Timothy Parish

Timothy J. Parish, age 56 of Long Prairie died August 17, 2006 at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by his family after battling cancer for the past 12 months.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Mon., Aug. 21, 2006 at First Baptist Church, Long Prairie with Pastor David Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Bear Head Cemetery, Bruce Township, Todd County, Minnesota.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Long Prairie.

Timothy Parish was born July 21, 1950 in Amherst, Texas to James and Viola (Turner) Parish. He was united in marriage to Joyce M. Pogatchnik on June 2, 1972 in Watertown, South Dakota. They lived in the Sauk Centre area where he was employed by Modern Farm Equipment as a parts manager for the last 29 years. Tim loved spending time with his grandson, Brandon. He enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycling on his Goldwing, traveling, going to casinos, and watching NASCAR and baseball games on T.V. Tim was a member of the Little Sauk Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Parish of Long Prairie; children, Jennifer Parish of Eden Prairie, and Brent Parish (Gena) of Sauk Centre; grandson, Brandon Parish; parents, James and Viola Parish of Long Prairie; brothers and sister, Joe Parish (Fawn) of Camarillo, CA, Jon Parish (Ruth) of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Kitie Hollenbeck (Harley) of Long Prairie.

Casket bearers will be Jerry Moonen, Vic Scherping, Bob Becker, Robert Eggerth, Shane Hollenbeck, and Kris Hollenbeck.Honorary bearers will be Mike Bushard, Jeanne Bushard, Nick Bosl, Jerry Stark, Scott Feist, Mike Nienaber, Chuck Parker, Curtis Tollin, Dave Refsal, Mark Smith, Travis Swenson, Jason Messer, Nate Schlief, Norb Vait, Carol Butkowski, and Amy Herickhoff.
