Thomas Latzka

Thomas Mackie "Tommy" Latzka, age 18 of Sauk Centre, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 16, 2013 at his home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 20 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating. Inurnment will be in Unity Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday at the church in Sauk Centre.

Thomas Mackie Latzka was born March 10, 1995 in Waseca, Minnesota. Tommy graduated from Sauk Centre High School in 2013 and was currently attending Ridgewater College in Willmar. He was working at Meyer Dairy this summer before attending college. Tommy was a wrestling fanatic who wrestled for the Sauk Centre - Melrose Wrestling Team and was going to wrestle for Ridgewater College.

Tommy was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a Minnesota Vikings fan who enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles, and competing in demolition derbies. Tommy was an animal lover who loved his black labs and his cat. His favorite meal was the foot long tuna sub at Subway.

Survivors include his parents, Alan and Marilyn Latzka of Sauk Centre, Kristie Mackie of Waterville; brothers and sisters, Jake Latzka, Brandon, Leah, and Emily Petermeier, and Ian Mackie; grandparents, Rose Betow of Sauk Centre, Mary and Vernon Jacobs of Melrose, and Don Kellen of Waterville; and many aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Martin Betow and Ralph Latzka; and uncle, Ron Betow.

Serving as urn bearer will be Roosevelt Austin. Cross bearers will be Devan Fischer and Quinten Johnson and scripture bearer will be Patrick Knoblach. Honorary bearers will be the Sauk Centre-Melrose Wrestling Team.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
