Theresa M. Rademacher, age 83, of Melrose died Friday, July 23, 2004 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2004 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Christian Mothers and Immaculate Conception Catholic Aid will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Theresa Rademacher was born on February 15, 1921 in New Munich to Matt and Mary (Wehseler) Zierden. She was united in marriage to Virgil Rademacher on October 28, 1941 in New Munich, Minnesota. They farmed five miles south of New Munich in St. Martin Township. They retired and moved to Melrose in 1984. Theresa enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking and baking. She also liked to travel. Theresa was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Melrose, Christian Mothers and the Catholic Aid Association.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil Rademacher of Melrose; nine children, Rich & Karen Rademacher of New Munich, Lenny & Dianne Rademacher of Avon, Harold & Joan Rademacher of Greenwald, Gene & Betty Rademacher of Melrose, Bernice & Ron Olmscheid of Lake Henry, Joyce & Albert Yarke of Meire Grove, Norman Rademacher of New Munich, Chuck Rademacher of Cold Spring, and Debbie & Philip Schmiesing of St. Martin; sisters, Margaret & Alcuin Borgerding of Freeport, Delores Dierkhising of New Munich and Sr. Geraldine Zierden, OSB at St. Benedict's; 31 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Matthew, Hubert, Jerome, Art, Edmund, and Valerian Zierden; sisters, Lucille Zierden and Rosie Janke; and one grandchild, Trista Yarke.
Casket bearers will be Dale Olmscheid, Bryan Yarke, Peter Schmiesing, Michael, Gary and Ross Rademacher. Honorary bearers will be Paul and Ann Maus, Gust and Kathy Abrahamson, and Joe and Leona Moscho. Cross bearer will be Amber Rademacher and scripture bearer will be Emily Rademacher.
