Tara N. Pohlmann, age 21 of Melrose, died on Monday, March 23, 2009 in Burtrum, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 27 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Tara Nicole Pohlmann was born on June 3, 1987 in Albany, Minnesota to Henry and Mary (Rieland) Pohlmann. She was a 2005 graduate of Melrose High School and also graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in June of 2008. Tara was currently working at Rahn's Oil and Propane in Melrose. She was very involved in helping her family on the farm doing chores, milking cows, and driving tractor and skid loader. She was a member and mass server at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. While in high school, she earned the Gold Award in Girl Scouts and enjoyed synchronized swimming.
Survivors include her parents, Henry and Mary Pohlmann of Melrose, sisters, Micki and Kali Pohlmann both at home; grandparents, Cel (Lois) Rieland of New Munich, and Irene Pohlmann of Melrose; and her very large family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Tara was preceded in death by her grandfather, Lawrence Pohlmann; and uncle, Bernard Pohlmann.
Serving as casket bearers will be Mark McCalmant, Jerry Rieland, Paul Rieland, Mark Pohlmann, Greg Rieland, Mike Bauer, Al Niehaus, and Aaron Pohlmann. Cross bearer will be Jeff Rieland and scripture bearer will be Carla Hinnenkamp. Serving as honorary bearers will be Amy Bauer, Karen Schulzetenberg, Jenna Schmeising, Matt Hellerman, and the staff at Rahn's Oil and Propane.
