Susan E. Hintzen, age 99 of Sauk Centre, died on Thursday, November 21, 2003 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 24 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. James Statz will officiate with interment following in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday and 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home in Sauk Centre.
Susan Hintzen was born on August 25, 1904 in Belle River Township, Douglas County, Minnesota to Nicholas and Millie (Jerome) Steidl. In 1922 she was married to Lambert Hintzen at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River. The couple resided in Carlos and in 1935 they moved to Sauk Centre. For the past nine years she had resided at St. Michael's Nursing Home. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and Christian Mothers. She was a former member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Sauk Centre Country Club.
Survivors include son, Robert (Alyce) Hintzen of Sauk Centre; three grandsons, John (Melody) Hintzen of Chaska, Mark Hintzen of Maple Grove and Paul (Shawn) Hintzen of Sauk Centre; four great grandchildren, Alyssa and Katie Hintzen of Chaska and Amy and Laura Hintzen of Sauk Centre.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lambert Hintzen in 1968; infant daughter, Patricia; sisters, Agnes Ruegemer, Florence Aker and Marie Harrison; brother, Myles Steidl.Serving as casket bearers will be John, Alyssa, Katie, Mark, Paul and Amy Hintzen and cross bearer will be Laura Hintzen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Michael?s Nursing Home or Hospice or Our Lady of the Angels Church.
