Stanley Schmidt

Stanley A. Schmidt, age 64 of Sauk Centre, died Friday, March 27, 2009 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 1 at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with Rev. Marty Porter officiating. Inurnment will be held privately at a later date.

Friends may call at the funeral home in Sauk Centre beginning at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday.Stanley Arnold Schmidt was born May 29, 1944 in Wood Lake, Minnesota to Martin and Hattie (Dagel) Schmidt. He graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School and attended Concordia College for two years. In 1999 he moved to Sauk Centre and together with his wife Cathy, was a former owner of the Palmer House.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Schmidt of Sauk Centre; children, Melissa (Pastor Todd) Ertsgaard of Wisconsin, Mike Schmidt of Washington, and Marc (Gretchen) Schmidt of Kentucky; step-children, Charles Chapin of Minnesota, Julianna (Clayton) Cotthaus of New York, Kristin (Adam) Mead of Minnesota, and Andrew Dahl of Minnesota; eight grandchildren; father, Martin Schmidt of Minnesota; brothers, Daniel (Marilyn) Schmidt of Minnesota and Berwyn (Gayle) Schmidt of Minnesota; sister, Nadine (Steve) Rozikes of Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Hattie Schmidt.
