Shirley Woebkenberg

Shirley A. Woebkenberg, age 82 of Grey Eagle, passed from this life Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Long Prairie Memorial Nursing Home in Long Prairie, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 1 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Rev. Ron Dockendorf will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

Shirley Ann Hellstrom was born September 8, 1928 in Round Prairie Township, Todd County, Minnesota to Oscar and Anna (Lawin) Hellstrom. On November 18, 1961 she married Joseph B. Woebkenberg at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. The couple farmed for many years and after retiring, enjoyed travel and fishing.Shirley moved to Valley View Assisted Living in Long Prairie in September 2008 and since May had resided at Long Prairie Memorial Nursing Home.

She was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle.Shirley enjoyed gardening, walking, and her cat, Mojo.

Survivors include two nieces, Deanna Babb of Skiatook, Oklahoma and Brenda Dempsey of Parker, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joey Woebkenberg on October 19, 2003; and sister, Wilma Clementson.

Serving as casket bearers will be Tom Blais, Lloyd Schwanke, David Hellstrom, Mark Klein, Pete Berscheit, and Charles Springer.
