Sharon Howe, age 65 of Sauk Centre, died unexpectedly Thursday, September 15, 2005 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, September 19 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Rebecca Thomas will officiate.Graveside services and interment will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 20 at Woodbine Cemetery in Valley City, North Dakota.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at the church. Eagles Auxiliary prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Sharon Howe was born January 12, 1940 in Fargo, North Dakota to Glenn and Viola (Youmans) Hanna. On August 31, 1959 she married Loren Howe in Enderlin, North Dakota. The couple farmed near Nome, North Dakota before residing in Lisbon and Valley City. They later resided in Windom, Minnesota and since 1974 had resided in Sauk Centre. She was a graduate of Valley City State Teacher's College and taught at Lisbon and Hastings, North Dakota. She was also a substitute teacher in Sauk Centre. In 1980 she began working at Sears, which also served as a deputy registrar for the Dept. of Motor Vehicles. Since 1988 she owned and operated the deputy registrar office in Sauk Centre.Sharon was a member of First Lutheran Church, Sinclair Lewis Aerie 3847 Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, Mainstreet Woodies Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and the Sauk Centre Area Chamber of Commerce. Sharon was compassionate and caring and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Loren Howe of Sauk Centre; four children, Laurel Neurauter of Valley City, North Dakota, Jana (Dan) Beck of Woodbury, Sheryl (Mark) Rafferty of Lino Lakes and Jared (Erin) Howe of Sauk Centre; 13 grandchildren; brothers and sister, Bradley Hanna of Hayward, California, Janet Hanna-Schwalbe of Minneapolis and Gary (Betty) Hanna of Canby; sister-in-law, Linda Hanna of Bismarck, North Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Viola (Youmans) Hanna; brother, George Hanna; and sister-in-law, Agnes Hanna.
Serving as casket bearers will be her grandchildren Brandon Beck, Shaina and Amber Neurauter, Jamie, Caitlyn and Courtney Beck, Alex and Sam Rafferty, Shauna Howe, Erin and Will Rafferty, Kaelyn and Taylor Howe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
