Shari Roerick

Shari K. Roerick, age 65 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully surrounded by her family Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 27 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Jeremy Theis officiating. Inurnment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday.

Shari Kay Gerdes was born January 4, 1950 in Graceville, Minnesota to Lawrence and Lila (Zimmerman) Gerdes. She was a 1968 graduate of Villard High School. On October 12, 1968 she married Engelbert "Bert" Roerick at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, Minnesota and they then resided in Sauk Centre. She was a housekeeper for several years at the Econo Lodge Motel in Sauk Centre. Shari was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.

Shari enjoyed her family and grandchildren, playing cards, watching Days of Our Lives and The Young and The Restless, sewing, circle word puzzles, spending time outdoors, camping, and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, Bert Roerick of Sauk Centre; three children, Sandra (Richard) Wiltfong of Sauk Rapids, Chad Roerick (Tammy Peterson Wollak) of Sauk Rapids, Kimberly (Larry) Butkowski of St. Rosa; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger (Ruth) Gerdes of Chokio, Gary (Cindy) Gerdes of Glenwood, and Terrance (Sharron) Gerdes of Anoka; sisters-in-law, Barb Gerdes of Villard and Donna Gerdes of Fairmont.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Gerdes on December 1, 1996; mother, Lila Gerdes on June 5, 2004; brothers, Lee and Dale Gerdes.

Serving as urn bearers, cross bearers, and scripture bearers will be her grandchildren, Josh Wiltfong, Samantha Whitacre, Kaleigh, Madison, Gabrielle, and Jenna Butkowski.
