A visitation for SGM (Ret.) Dale E. Sell, 56, of North Richland Hills, TX, formerly of Sauk Centre, who died Saturday, Sept 3, 2005 at a local hospital in North Richland Hills, will be held Thursday, September 8th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose.

A graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, September 9th at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.

Dale was born October 19, 1948 in Melrose, MN to Lloyd and Elnora (Meier) Sell. He was a 1966 graduate of Sauk Centre High School. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy. On January 8, 1972, he married Connie Marthaler and had two daughters, Stacie and Katie. He owned Dale's Pool Hall in West Union for three years. Dale joined the Army National Guard in 1975 as a Recruiter. In 1984, he accepted a position at Ft. Benjamin Harrison, IN, where he was the Chief of the National Guard Recruiting Station. Dale then went on to the National Guard Bureau as the Senior Staff NCO, Retention in Washington, D.C. He was then promoted to Sergeant Major and then attended the United States Sergeants Major Academy in Ft. Bliss, TX. After graduating from the academy, Dale stayed on as an instructor. IN 1992, he returned to Washington, D.C., where he was selected to serve as the Senior Staff NCO, Training. Dale dedicated his life to our Nation's military, serving in combat in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy, and then serving in the Minnesota National Guard from the state level to the senior levels of the National Guard Bureau, including key positions during Desert Storm. Dale retired from the Army on October 1, 1995. He moved back to Sauk Centre and was hired at Cabinet Components as a General Manager.In 2000, Dale moved to Texas. He married Nancy Rollin, December 28, 2002, and resided at their home in North Richland Hills, TX. He was employed at the Department of Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and Printing.Dale enjoyed many activities, including fishing, golfing, hunting, and his newest hobby, triking.

Dale is survived by his wife, Nancy Rollin Sell; daughters, Stacie (Dustin) Ilgen and Cpt. Katie (Chuck) Blue; grandson, Nicholas Wanderscheid; mother, Elnora Sell; brother, Larry (Sue) Sell; sisters, Sharon (Al) Young and Debra (Chuck) Albrecht; along with seven nieces and nephews; step-daughter, Lori (Blake) Boyce; step-grandchildren, Preston and Brinley.

Dale is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Sell.

Serving as pall bearers will be Steve Young, Jeff Sell, Adam Albrecht, Roger Beuning, John Lewis and Jerry Meier.

Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.
