Selestia E. Zenzen, age 94 of Melrose, died Friday, August 15, 2014 at the CentraCare Nursing Home in Melrose, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 20 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. The Christian Mothers, Sts. Bernard and Elizabeth Society, and the Schanhaar-Otte VFW Auxiliary will pray at 5 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Selestia Elizabeth Enneking was born June 14, 1920 in Melrose, Minnesota to Bernard and Elizabeth (Hinnenkamp) Enneking. She was united in marriage to Edwin Zenzen on June 18, 1946 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose. The couple farmed in Melrose Township, Stearns County until retiring in 1982. They moved to Melrose in 1990.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, Christian Mothers, Sts. Bernard and Elizabeth Society, and the Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 Auxiliary. Selestia enjoyed quilting, embroidering, and baking. She also enjoyed outdoor activities such as gardening and spending time at the cabin on Birch Lake. She and Ed always enjoyed dancing and traveling. She loved spending time visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Art Zenzen and his wife, Marilyn of Plymouth, Wayne Zenzen and his wife, Shirley of Melrose, and Carla Peschel and her husband, David of St. Cloud; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ray Zenzen and his wife, Laura of Melrose; and sister-in-law, Rita Enneking of Sauk Centre.

Selestia was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Zenzen on November 27, 2005; parents; step-mother, Katherine Enneking; and brother, LaVerne Enneking.

Serving as casket bearers will be Drew Peschel, John Peschel, Matt Zenzen, Mark Zenzen, Noah Zenzen, and Molly Kjorstad. Cross bearer will be Ashley Zenzen and scripture bearer will be Beth Zenzen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
