Ryan D. Hinnenkamp, age 43, of Melrose, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at his home near Melrose, Minnesota after a courageous battle with cancer.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 24 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery following the service.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, November 23 at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Ryan David Hinnenkamp was born December 7, 1974 in Melrose, Minnesota to Lawrence and Carol (Rutten) Hinnenkamp. He graduated from Melrose High School in 1993. Ryan married Shelley Phipps on February 10, 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He became a diesel mechanic and started his own business in 2006, known as North Central Truck Service. He enjoyed working on the farm, cutting wood, flower gardening, and taking vacations to the Caribbean. Ryan will be remembered for having the best smile, the best laugh, and being the most generous person. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose.

Ryan is survived by his wife, Shelley Hinnenkamp of Melrose; children, Zoe Hinnenkamp of Melrose and Spencer Hinnenkamp of Melrose, Andrew Winter of Alexandria, and Ethan (Lexie) Winter of Olivia; parents, Lawrence and Carol Hinnenkamp of Melrose; a granddaughter due in January; sisters, Kari (Aaron) Franklin of St. Cloud and Brenda (Nantha) Minette of St. Cloud; and nephews, Caleb Franklin and Palmer Minette.

He was preceded in death by his son, Cameron Hinnenkamp; brother, Rick Hinnenkamp; brother-in-law, Dave Minette; and grandparents, Boniface and Aggie Hinnenkamp and Tom and Caroline Rutten.

Serving as urn bearers will be Ethan Winter, Jason Stoermann, Scooter, and Josh LeClaire. Cross bearer will be Andrew Winter and scripture bearers will be Palmer Minette, Duncan Frank, and Caleb Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
