Rosemary Raeker, age 91 of Melrose, formerly of New Munich, died peacefully surrounded by family Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Melrose Area Hospital in Melrose, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 16 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich. Rev. Roger Klassen, OSB and Rev. Julius Beckermann, OSB will concelebrate with interment following in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church in New Munich. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m. Friday evening at the church in New Munich.

Rosemary Schulte was born October 13, 1918 in Millwood Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Anton and Sophie (Beste) Schulte. On May 6, 1941 she married Arnold H. Raeker at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. The couple farmed near New Munich. Since 2003 she had resided in Melrose.Rosemary was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich and Christian Mothers. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, sewing and quilting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include nine children, Roland (Rita) Raeker of Mission, Texas, Eileen Davenport of Richfield, Jerome Raeker of Melrose, JoAnn (Bob) Hanson of Burnsville, Luella (Phil) Korth of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Mel (Denise) Raeker of Eagan, Al (Jane) Raeker of Melrose, Dorine (Ed) Connelly of Bloomington, and Richard (Linda) Raeker of New Munich; 11 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters and brother, Rita Dwyer and Laurie Sjogren of St. Cloud, Robert (Brigitta) Schulte of Atlanta, Georgia; sister-in-law, Sharon Schulte of Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold Raeker; brothers, Joseph and Edmund Schulte; son-in-law, Jim Davenport.

Serving as casket bearers will be Michele Steglich, Julie Teske, Andrew Korth, Daniel Raeker, Laura Raeker, and Andrea Connelly. Cross bearer will be Edward Raeker. Honorary bearers will be Anita Turner, Anthony Raeker, Mikael Hanson, and Erin Connelly.
