Rose D. Tieman, age 80 of Melrose, died on Saturday, May 29, 2004 at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery, Melrose.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. followed by St. Elizabeth's Society at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Rose D. Tieman was born September 9, 1923 in Millwood Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Herman and Clara (Van Heel) Arnzen. She married Ralph J. Tieman on May 22, 1942 in Melrose. They resided in Melrose where she was employed as a housekeeper by the City of Melrose for 38 years, Meyer and Meyer Law Office for 42 years, Melrose Credit Union, Schad Funeral Home, and domestic house cleaning in Melrose. She liked to play cards, garden, and plant flowers. Rose enjoyed her doll, mice, angel, and porcelain rose collections. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Elizabeth's Society.
Survivors include her children, Ronald Tieman (JoAnn) of Melrose, Rosalie Becker (Ken) of Hastings, Shirley Roering of Melrose, and Gail Schulte (Ronald) of Burturm; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother, Susan Vogel (Ervin), Elmer Arnzen (Mary), Bernelda Rohde, all of Melrose.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Clara Arnzen; husband, Ralph Tieman on Jan. 10, 1992; brothers and sisters, Aloys and Andrew Arnzen, Martha Stanczyk, Marie Becker, Gertrude Ostendorf, Esther Tobroxen, and Bridget Waldvogel.
Casket bearers will be Dustin Tieman, Andy and Corey Schulte, Scott Becker, Brian Roering, and Jeffery Rebarchik.Cross bearer will be Patricia Rebarchik. Scripture bearer will be Emily Schulte. Honorary bearers will be Lorraine Bierschbach, Viola Berns, Marie Christen, Rose Ann Inderrieden, Rose Mary Johnson, Alice Klassen, Virginia Tise, Ruth Kuhlmann, Dorothy Moorman, Bernette Petermeier-Finken, Edith Ritter, Mary Schad, Val Schreifels, Ginny Borgerding, Anne Marie Tieman, Irene Becker and Mary Zehrer.
