Rose Moening

Rose C. Moening, age 87 of Melrose died Friday, June 17, 2004 at Pine Villa Nursing Home in Melrose.

Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, June 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. The Rev. Vincent Lieser and Rev. Ken Thielman will concelebrate. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery in Melrose.

Friends may call at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Rose Catherine was born August 4, 1916 in Spring Hill to Hubert and Anna (Sand) Welle. She married Theodore J. Moening on June 26, 1939 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose.Rose worked at Bohlig Cleaners, and was a retail clerk for the Skogmo store. She grew up in Spring Hill and was a lifelong resident of Melrose.

She is survived by her children Kathy Zachman of Melrose, Darlene Weber of Coon Rapids, and Lee and Judy Moening of St. Cloud. Grandchildren Jennifer Zachman, Wendy Weber (Tom Linton), Cynthia (Marshal) Smith, and Heather, Heidi, and Ryan Moening. Step grandchildren, Jeff (Linda) Zachman & son, Jay; Joel (Cindy) Zachman and their son, Jerad; and Kaci & Kelli Linton.Rose is survived by sister, Alvina Klaphake; brother-in-law, Frank Klaphake; and sisters-in-law, Eleanor Motis, Dorothy Welle, and Marie Welz.

She was preceded in death by husband, Theodore on July 23, 1999, and brothers and sisters Christopher, Elizabeth, Nicholaus, Michael, Henry, Alphonse, Peter, Anna, Pauline, William, and Hubert.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
