Roger J. "Rog" Ebert, age 61 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at his home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 2 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with Rev. Marty Porter officiating. Inurnment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Roger John Ebert was born April 7, 1953 in Ortonville, Minnesota to Robert and Ellen (Peterson) Ebert. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard Reserves from 1972 to 1977. On August 19, 2000 he married Imogene Sanquist at their home in Sauk Centre. He worked at Coborns in Sauk Centre as a receiving manager. He also drove milk truck for Cass Clay, worked for West Central Sanitation in Willmar, and at Super America in Sauk Centre.
Roger enjoyed driving around in his truck and visiting with others. He loved fishing and going out to eat with family and friends. He was a past member of the American Legion Post 67.
He is survived by his wife, Imogene "Gene" Ebert of Sauk Centre; children, Michael (Chanell) Ebert of Ohio, Nicholas (Samantha) Ebert of Fergus Falls, and Jason Ebert of Fergus Falls; step-daughters, Gail (Tim) Quade of Melrose and Joy (Tom) Westbrock of Sauk Centre; six grandchildren and six step-grandchildren; and sister, Carol (Al) Peterson of Alexandria.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ronald Ebert.
Serving as urn bearer will be Michael Ebert. Honorary bearers will be Nicholas Ebert, Jason Ebert, Jon Richards, Dennis Kortan, Greg Lehner, Kevin Messer, Pat Robischon, Paul Robischon, and Scott Pitschka.
