Roger E. Brickweg, age 53 of New Munich died Sunday, June 5, 2005 at the Melrose Area Hospital from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 8 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich with Rev. Roger Klassen, O.S.B. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich. New Munich Fire Department will pray a rosary at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Roger Brickweg was born May 7, 1952 in Melrose, Minnesota to Frank and Jeanette (Hoeschen) Brickweg. He was employed as a mechanic at Worms Lumber & Ready Mix in New Munich. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich and retired from the New Munich Fire Department after 25 years. Roger enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking and riding his Harley Davidson. He also enjoyed spending time with his two grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons, Josh Brickweg of Sauk Centre and Bryan Brickweg and his wife, Jennifer of New Munich; grandchildren, Mariah Rose and Logan Roger; mother, Jeanette Brickweg of New Munich; brothers and sisters, Jim Brickweg and his wife, Joni of Opole, Bob Brickweg and his wife, Lynelle of Alexandria, Sharon Brickweg of Alexandria, Amy Schneider and her husband, David of Crystal, Mary Brickweg-Kerfeld and her husband, Kevin of Sauk Centre, Pat Molitor and her husband, Jon of Waite Park and Paul Brickweg and his wife, Diane of Alexandria.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, Frank Brickweg; and infant brother, Kenneth Brickweg.
Serving as casket bearers will be Bob Arnzen, Mark Klaphake, Dean Elfering, Rick Lemm, Ken Steinhofer, Gene Kunstleben, Dale Pundsack and Harland Hector. Serving as cross bearer will be Pam Lehnen and scripture bearer will be Rochelle Molitor. Gift bearers will be Emily Funk and Emily Arnzen. Honorary bearers will be the New Munich Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
