Robert D. "Bob" Tangen, age 43, of St. Cloud, formerly of Sauk Centre, died unexpectedly Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Long Prairie Memorial Hospital in Long Prairie, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 25 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Rebecca Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Robert Tangen was born May 2, 1962 in San Bernardino, California to Robert D. Tangen, Sr. and DeAnn E. (Bjornson) Tangen. He grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Sauk Centre High School in 1980. He worked in construction before attending St. Cloud State, where he earned his Bachelors of Science Degree. Robert was united in marriage to Jodi M. Michels on July 22, 1989 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Jodi and Bob moved to St. Cloud. He later studied for and became a Certified Management Accountant. He had worked various accounting jobs and at present was employed by Unitron Hearing in the Twin Cities. Bob enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycling, golfing and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Jodi Tangen of St. Cloud; father, Robert Tangen, Sr. of Norway; sisters, Theresa, Wendy and Andrea and Lisa Newstrom; brothers, Tony and Tim Schleicher, Dick and Dean Newstrom.
He was preceded in death by his mother, DeAnn Tangen; grandpa and grandma, Swan and Irma Tangen; and stepmother, Margo Olson.
Casket bearers will be Tony and Tim Schleicher, Dick and Dean Newstrom, Dave Hoffman and Jeff Ahrens.
