Robert P. "Bob" Schloegl, age 94 of Sauk Centre, died accidentally Saturday, April 11, 2009 at his home in Birchdale Township, Todd County, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the church Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
Bob Schloegl was born November 16, 1914 in Bruno, Saskatchewan, Canada to William and Eleanora (Brumleve) Schloegl. He married Alma Altendahl in November, 1941 in New Brighton. He was employed by Cargill Shipbuilding in Shakopee and they resided in Savage. They later moved to Rosemount where he worked in the defense plant. They then farmed south of Sauk Centre for 17 years on the Schloegl home farm. In 1963 they moved to town in Sauk Centre and Bob worked for Fred Schwartz's Cities Service and the Farmer's Coop Elevator. Since 1973 the couple had resided in Birchdale Township, Todd County.
Bob was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.Survivors include his wife, Alma Schloegl of Sauk Centre; daughter, Judy Olson of Delano; three grandchildren, Lonney (Amy) Olson, Monty (special friend, Angela Ewert) Olson, and Iris Olson; two great-grandchildren, Nathan O'Sullivan and Anabella Olson; brother, Tony (Betty) Schloegl of Hugo; two sisters, Gertrude Craig of Medford, Wisconsin and Mary Bong of Maple Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leo, Ray, Norbert, Ralph, and Joe Schloegl; sister, Rose Gettel.
Serving as casket bearers will be Denis Schirmers, Mike Middendorf, Gary Nelson, Jerry Rueckert, Tony Schleicher, and Jerry Frericks. Cross bearer will be Nathan O'Sullivan.
