Robert Sames

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport for Robert "Bob" Sames who died Wednesday at his home. Rev. Julius Beckermann, OSB will officiate. Private inurnment will take place at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church in Freeport. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the church in Freeport.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Sames of Melrose; two daughters, Lee (Jim) Uphoff of Greenwald and Chris Sames of Nisswa; three grandchildren, Bruce Uphoff, Kristen (Uphoff) Finken and Robbie Uphoff; great granddaughter, Michelle Uphoff; sisters, Marie (Ed) Wortman of Elk River, Georgian (Bill) Braun of Ely and Adeline (Bill) Hogan of Mahtomedi.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Vernon Sames; and grandson, John Uphoff.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
