Robert "Bob" Rehkamp, age 79 of Melrose died Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at the Melrose Area Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Saturday, September 20 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vincent Lieser officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 pm on Friday and from 8 to 9:30 am on Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 7 pm followed by the Knights of Columbus, Council #1633 at 8 pm Friday evening.
Robert Rehkamp was born on September 18, 1924 in Melrose Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Louis and Mary (Oevermann) Rehkamp. Bob worked for Passi Construction in Melrose and the Melrose Telephone Company. He was secretary for the Melrose Mutual Insurance Company. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Council #1633 and the Melrose Lions Club.
Bob is survived by his brother, Walter Rehkamp of Melrose; sister, Marion Tembrock and her husband, Henry of Elk River; sister-in-law, Josephine Rehkamp of Sauk Centre; and seven nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary Rehkamp; and brother, Leander Rehkamp.
Serving as casket bearers will be Ralph Inderrieden, Herbert Inderrieden, Jim Rehkamp, Dave Tembrock, George Middendorf, and Gregg Kyllo. Serving as cross bearer will be Janice Tembrock. Honorary bearers will be the Melrose Lions Club.
