Robert P. "Bob" Peters, age 86 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully, with his family by his side on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 17 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Sauk Centre with military honors provided by the Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m. followed by the United Veterans Prayer Service at 7 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus immediately following the Veterans prayer service Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Robert Peter Peters was born December 2, 1929 in Belgrade, Minnesota to Alphonse and Cora (Wiener) Peters. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years. On September 27, 1955 he married Valeria Weber at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. The couple farmed in the Sauk Centre area until 1994 when they retired and moved to town. Bob served on the Land O' Lakes District Boards, Sauk Centre Creamery Board for 31 years, and the North Fork Insurance Board for 24 years.

Bob was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Bishop Busch Council 4863 Knights of Columbus, Queen of Peace General Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, and was a life member of Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853. He enjoyed farming, the spring time, especially when the snow melted and the water ran away, and most importantly, spending time together with family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Valeria Peters of Sauk Centre; children, Barb (Denny) Honzay of Olivia, Bev (Larry) Hoppe of Osakis, Mike (Deb) Peters of Avon, and Ann (Paul) Novotny of Greenfield; ten grandchildren, Mark (Alysia), Laura, Sarah, and Jacob Honzay, Mathew, Karla, and Aaron Hoppe, Derek Peters, and Andrew and Leah Novotny; great-grandson, William Robert Honzay; brothers, George (Delores) Peters of Sauk Centre, Richard (Alice) Peters of Sauk Centre, and Herb (Alice) Peters of Sauk Centre; and sister-in-law, Carol Peters of West St. Paul.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; infant children, Mary and Joseph; brother, Jim Peters; brother-in law, Art Weber; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Bob Spanier; five Spanier nieces and nephews; nephew, Gary Peters; and niece, Lisa (Weber) Schoenberg.

Serving as casket bearers will be Bob's grandsons, Mathew Hoppe, Mark Honzay, Aaron Hoppe, Jacob Honzay, Andrew Novotny, and Derek Peters. Cross bearer will be granddaughter, Karla Hoppe and scripture bearer will be granddaughter, Laura Honzay. Gift bearers will be granddaughters, Sarah Honzay and Leah Novotny. Honorary bearers will be the Bishop Busch Council #4863 Knights of Columbus.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
