Robert Osendorf

Robert J. "Bobby O" Osendorf, age 82, of Melrose, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Pine Haven Care Center in Melrose.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 7 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. Inurnment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church in Melrose.

Robert Joseph Osendorf was born June 19, 1927 in Meire Grove, Minnesota to Frank and Mary (Vollmer) Osendorf. He married Rosemary "Rosie" Worms on April 19, 1952 in New Munich. Bob began his working career on his father's farm where he raised Black Angus cattle. He later became an insurance agent with North Central companies and went on to become the owner and operator of Greenwald Insurance Agency. Bob was a clerk for Getty Township for 25 years and director for the Stearns Electric Association, serving several terms. After retiring in 1991, he enjoyed many winters in Sun City West, AZ with his wife, Rosie.Bob was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. He was a lifetime member of the Lions.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary "Rosie" Osendorf of Melrose; children, Phil (Gail) Osendorf of Freeport, Rachel (Skip) Wight of Eden Prairie, and Amy (Tim) Pattock of Blaine; six grandchildren and one great-grandson; and sister, Margaret (John) Blake of Sun City West, AZ.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Urn bearer will be Phil Osendorf. Cross bearer will be Emma Pattock and scripture bearer will be Joe Pattock.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
