Robert Boyer

Robert N. "Bob" Boyer, age 74 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Galeon Community Memorial Home in Osakis, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 22 at Saint Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Tim Wenzel and Rev. Greg Paffel concelebrating the mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church in Sauk Centre. Parish Prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the church.

Robert Norman Boyer was born May 3, 1944 in Todd County, Minnesota to Ernest Hamilton and Edna Clara (Buan) Boyer. In 1962, Bob graduated from Sauk Centre High School. On December 29, 1964, Bob was united in marriage to Patricia "Patty" Roering in St. Paul, Minnesota. They made their home in Sauk Centre and raised their family in Sauk Centre. Bob worked for several auto dealerships before opening Boyer Motor in 1972. He enjoyed serving his customers until his retirement in 2012 when he sold his business to his son, Brian Boyer.

Bob can be remembered as a gentleman, one who enjoyed visiting with anyone he met, and an exceptional storyteller. He loved to dance with his wife, Patty and to be with his family when time allowed. Going to the movies, either the drive-in or movie theatre was always a favorite pastime. He especially loved the large tubs of theatre popcorn! Bob was always up for "Sunday Drives" to look at the countryside or in the winter, Christmas light displays; he was just happy driving and exploring. He enjoyed hunting with his son and his grandsons, breakfast at the Ding Dong Café and shaking dice, and tractor pulls.

He was a member of Saint Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. He was also a member of the Sauk Centre Lions' Club where he was involved with the pancake breakfasts and organizing the Bingo events with the help of his daughters.

Bob will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years, Patty of Sauk Centre; children, Cindy (Chuck) Amos of St. Michael, Brenda Boyer (Terry Doroff) of Waite Park, Debbie Boyer (Bruce Ressemann) of Sauk Centre, Brian (Darla) Boyer of Sauk Centre, Stacey (Jeff) Heinen of Elko, Kayla Schmitz of Monticello and Kimberly Boyer of Monticello; 14 grandchildren; sisters and brother, Helen Ann Boyer, Dean (Gail) Boyer, Margaret Strobeck; Mary (Luverne) Hoffman and Linda Boyer; aunt, Grace McNeil; and other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Edna Boyer; sister, Jane Boyer; and two brothers-in-law, Norman Strobeck and Al Curtis.
