Rita Zilka

Rita S. Zilka, age 67, of Sauk Centre, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the CentraCare Health Systems in Sauk Centre.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Don Reisig officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church in Sauk Centre.

Rita Sue Nordstrom was born February 18, 1946 in Martin County, Minnesota to Eugene and Carolyn (Spiegeler) Nordstrom. She was baptized and confirmed in the Trimont Methodist church and graduated from Trimont High School in 1964. On September 2, 1967 she married Gary Rahm, they later divorced. On October 7, 2000 she married Marvin Zilka in Sauk Centre. Rita was a long time member of the Grace Lutheran church choir in Fairmont. She was a member of the Al Zinter Chorale, and a founding member of the Fairmont Hockey Association. Rita worked and cooked at different restaurants and cleaned houses. She enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Rita especially enjoyed working in the yard or fishing with Marvin.

Rita is survived by her husband, Marvin Zilka of Sauk Centre; parents, Eugene and Carolyn Nordstrom of Fairmont; son, Darin (Shannon) Rahm of Fairmont; daughter, Dana (Jeremy) Rahm of Fairmont; mother-in-law, Gene Zilka of Sauk Centre; step-son, Marc (Sharon) Farley Zilka of Tucson, Arizona; six grandchildren; sister, Cindy (Larry) Ahrens of Somerset, Wisconsin; brothers, Greg (Linda) Nordstrom of Fairmont and Torre Nordstrom of St. James; aunt, Maridel Spiegeler of Arizona and great-aunt, Nelda Berry of Minneapolis; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Rita was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and several cousins, and father-in-law, Anthony Zilka.
