Rita M. Suck, age 91 of New Munich, died Friday, October 14, 2005 at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 17 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich with Rev. Roger Klassen, OSB and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church in New Munich. Christian Mothers and the VFW Auxiliary will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayer at 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home in Melrose.
Rita M. Suck was born April 23, 1914 in Spring Hill, Minnesota to Henry and Mary (Hemmesch) Loecken. She married Claude M. Suck on June 21, 1932 in Spring Hill. She lived in New Munich until 2000 when she moved to Park View Center in Melrose. She has resided at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose for the past year. Rita and Claude traveled Minnesota painting logos and signs for Bonard Gas & Oil. She was employed by the post office in New Munich and was employed for many years at Jennie-O Foods, Kraft and Pine Villa Care Center. Rita was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and Schannhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 Auxiliary. Rita loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing cards and taking care of others.
Survivors include her son, John Suek (Carol) of Long Prairie; three grandchildren, Sarah, Shannon and Gregory Suek; brothers and sisters, Sylvester Loecken (Ottillia) of Killeen, Texas, Bernetta Heinen of Greenwald, Alice Boeckermann of Melrose.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claude Suck on June 23, 1989; son, Jerome Suck; brothers and sisters, Al, Gilbert, Veronica and Margaret Loecken and Alma Metzger.
Casket bearers will be Roman, Wayne, and Buddy Bushman, Leon Boeckermann, Andrew Heinen and Andy Fowler. Cross bearer will be Sarah Suek. Scripture bearer will be Shannon Suek.
