Rita Hiltner

Rita M. Hiltner, age 92, of Sauk Centre, died peacefully Friday, May 24, 2024 at Cura Care Center in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 31 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church in Sauk Centre. 

Rita Adrian was born June 24, 1931 in Elrosa, Minnesota to Joseph and Mary (Yarke) Adrian. On October 2, 1956, she married Louis “Louie” Hiltner at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa, Minnesota. The couple farmed near Osakis for 40 years. They retired in 1996 and moved to Sauk Centre. Rita enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. 

She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and St. Margaret’s Mission.

Survivors include her children, James (Myla Jo) Hiltner of Osakis, David (Julie) Hiltner of Sauk Centre, and Barb (Pete) Hinnekamp of Melrose; nine grandchildren, Bella, Beth and Ethan Hiltner, Tiffany (Seth) Christianson and Alicia Hiltner, and Josh, Nick, Maria, and Mick Hinnenkamp; and two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Mallory Christianson.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Louis “Louie” Hiltner on May 20, 2018; parents; siblings and in-laws, Raymond Adrian, Alfred (Millie) Adrian, Agatha (Willie) Roering, and Margie (Albert) Czech; and infant brother, Alois Adrian.

Serving as casket bearers will be her grandchildren.
