Richard L. Knoblach, age 79 of Sauk Centre, died Monday, July 31, 2006 at the St. Michaels Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 3 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery with military honors by Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 5:15 p.m. followed by Osakis Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Sauk Centre.
Richard Knoblach was born June 30, 1927 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to George and Mary (Salzer) Knoblach. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. Richard married Mary Catherine Smith on September 16, 1961 in St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Avon, Minnesota. They moved to a farm in Ashley Township, Stearns County. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, American Legion Post 67, and Knights of Columbus of Osakis.
Survivors include his children, Kevin Knoblach (Kathy) of Sauk Centre and Karen Knoblach (significant other, Gary Warburton) of Avon; sisters, Elizabeth Marthaler of Osakis, Marie Tenhoff (Harlan) of Osakis; brother, Robert Knoblach of Sauk Centre; and one granddaughter, Grace Knoblach.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Kay Knoblach on August 2, 1999; and brothers, Alois, Leo and Edmund Knoblach.
Casket bearers will be Ron Klein, Bob Knoblach, Alex Marthaler, Herb Marthaler, Jim Tenhoff and Jerome Smith. Cross bearer will be Harold Marthaler and scripture bearer will be Harlan Tenhoff.
