Renate I. Ferguson, age 73 of Spring Hill, died Sunday, July 28, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer at her son's home in Danville, Kentucky.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 7 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spring Hill with Rev. Dick McGuire officiating and Rev. Omar Guanchez concelebrating. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church in Spring Hill.
Renate Isolde Mussmann was born April 9, 1940 in Goldap, Germany to Gustav and Friedel Mussmann. She was united in marriage to Jay C. Ferguson on November 25, 1970 in Houston, Texas. Renate worked as a seamstress for TANI Division in Albany, Minnesota for ten years. Renate was a member of St Michael's Catholic Church in Spring Hill and the Christian Women Sodality. She enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, and crocheting.
Survivors include her children, John (Chrissy) Ferguson of Danville, Kentucky and Heidi (Dennis) Justison of Spring Hill and; and seven grandchildren.
Renate was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Ferguson on June 11, 2008; and grandchildren, Amber Ferguson and Harrison McGuire.
Serving as urn bearer will John Ferguson. Cross bearer will be Dennis Justison and scripture bearer will be Graceann McGuire. Honorary bearers will be the St. Michael's Christian Women Sodality.
