Regina E. "Reg" Sunderman, age 87 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the CentraCare Health Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 27 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Regina Elizabeth Uphoff was born June 5, 1930 in New Munich, Minnesota to Bernard and Frieda (Klaphake) Uphoff. She began working at the Uphoff Locker Plant in Greenwald. On May 21, 1955, she married Gerald "Jack" Sunderman at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich. The couple owned and operated Sunderman Oil for many years. She then worked as a cook at the Holy Family School. She enjoyed playing cards, flowers, golfing, bowling, watching the Twins, and cooking and baking for her family.
Reg was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her sons, Mark Sunderman of Sauk Centre, Marty (Brenda) Sunderman of Sauk Centre, and Michael (Cindy) Sunderman of Sauk Centre; seven grandchildren, Adam (Erin) Sunderman, Nathan (Holly) Sunderman, Jeremy (LeeAnn) Sunderman, Jessie (Dan) Keller, Jenna Sunderman, Nicholas (Sheena) Sunderman and Christopher Sunderman; 16 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Shirley Uphoff of Greenwald.
Reg was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Frieda Uphoff; husband, Jack Sunderman on July 13, 2012; infant son, Dale Sunderman; brothers and in-laws, Celestine (Rose), Sylvester (Sally), and Virgil Uphoff; and sisters and in-laws, Bernadette (Jerome) Lemm and Dorine (Clarence) VonWahlde.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jeremy Sunderman, Nicholas Sunderman, Christopher Sunderman, Adam Sunderman, Nathan Sunderman and Dan Keller. Cross bearer will be Jenna Sunderman and scripture bearer will be Jessie Keller.
In lieu of flowers, a donation will be made to the Holy Family School in Sauk Centre.
