Regina A. Dobmeier, age 92, of St. Francis, died peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Melrose Area Hospital in Melrose.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Francis with Rev. Mike Kellogg officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church in St. Francis. St. Francis Christian Mothers and the St. Francis Catholic Aid Society will pray at 6 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the church.
Regina Agnes Pundsack was born May 27, 1918 in St. Francis, Krain Township to Joseph and Theresa (Ostendorf) Pundsack. She married Lawrence Dobmeier on October 27, 1942 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Francis. The couple farmed near the St. Francis area for many years. Regina made her home at the Pine Villa Care Center for the last four years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, gardening, flowers, bird watching, working at church, and watching the MN Twins. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Francis Sewing Circle, St. Francis Christian Mothers, and the St. Francis Catholic Aid Society.
Survivors include her children, Jane (Leo) Wiechmann of Waite Park, Allen (Joan) Dobmeier of St. Rosa, Jerry (Joyce) Dobmeier of Freeport, Arnold Dobmeier of St. Francis, Judy (Ben) Hoeschen of St. Cloud, LeRoy (Sandy) Dobmeier of Rice, Terri (Tom) Lange of Bowlus, and Ken (Lisa) Dobmeier of St. Francis; 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene (Ozzie) Tschida of St. Paul, Lorraine Ettel of Sauk Centre, and Florentine Ettl of St. Paul; brother, Melvin (Rosemary) Pundsack of St. Francis; sisters-in-law, Alice Pundsack of St. Paul, Irene Pundsack of St. Cloud, and Rose Pundsack of Melrose.
Regina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Dobmeier in November of 1989; daughter, Doris Burggraff in April of 1992; granddaughter, Trisha Dobmeier; brothers, Alfred, Richard, and Walter Pundsack; sister, Mildred Pundsack; and infant brothers, Alvin and John Pundsack.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Pine Villa Care Center and Dr. Kurt Schwieters for the wonderful care Regina received for the last four years.
Serving as casket bearers will be Mary Klassen, Bradley Dobmeier, Kevin Wiechmann, Tanya Dobmeier, Steve Lange, and Brian Hoeschen. Cross bearer will be Joyce Tiemann and scripture bearer will be Jenny Leners. Gift bearers will be Shanna Dobmeier and Sara Dobmeier. Readers will be Bruce Dobmeier and Nicole Schwarzbauer. Honorary bearers will be the St. Francis Christian Mothers.
