Raymond Muellner

Raymond James Muellner, age 81 of Grey Eagle, died on Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Melrose Area Hospital in Melrose, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle with Rev. Ronald Dockendorf officiating. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, Minnesota.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Parish prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the church.

Raymond Muellner was born May 4, 1926 in St. Paul, Minnesota to James and Rose (Riehm) Muellner. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He was united in marriage to Barbara M. Rottman on June 28, 1947 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in St. Paul. Ray was a Fire Fighter in St. Paul for 23 years until his retirement in 1977. Ray and Barb then moved to Grey Eagle residing on Little Birch Lake.He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. He loved fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Muellner of Grey Eagle; children, Cindy (Gary) Kerfeld of St. Stephen, and Diane (Jim) Wolfe of Evansville, Indiana; grandchildren, Nicole, Desiree, Tanya, Steve, Jeff, Jacob and Matthew; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Rose, Virginia, James, Edward, and Doloris; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Muellner of North St. Paul.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Donald Muellner; brother, Richard; and sisters, Eileen, Lorrain, and Marcella.

Serving as casket bearers will be Jacob Muellner, Matt Muellner, Steve Wolfe, Jeff Wolfe, Cory Bengston, and Chad Klocker. Cross bearer will be Nicole Klocker and scripture bearer will be Alexandra Wolfe.
