Raymond H. "Ray" Maus, age 83, of Melrose, died Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 1 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.F
riends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Melrose Knights of Columbus and Sts. Bernard & Elizabeth Council will pray at 6 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening.
Raymond Maus was born June 9, 1924 in Melrose Township, Stearns County to Peter and Mary (Doepker) Maus. On June 13, 1950 he married Agnes Uphoff. He was a resident of Melrose all his life. He was an owner/operator of Maus Motors until 1993 when he retired. Ray enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, Knights of Columbus, Council #1633, Sts. Bernard & Elizabeth Council, and a former Member of the Melrose Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Maus of Melrose; children, Sue Branyon and her husband, Pat of Plymouth, Ron Maus and his wife, Vickie of Brooklyn Park, Mary Kay Jorgenson and her husband, Michael of Golden Valley, Bob Maus and his wife, Kris of Monticello, Amy Rieland and her husband, Rick of Melrose, and Paul Maus and his wife, Anne of Melrose; 15 grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren; brother, Albert Maus and his wife, Ana of San Diego, California; and sister, Edith Ritter of Melrose.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wendelin, Donald, and Leo Maus; sisters, Frances Waldorf, Caroline Winter, Florence Miller, and Veronica Springer.
Serving as casket bearers will be Ron Maus, Bob Maus, Paul Maus, Pat Branyon, Michael Jorgenson, and Rick Rieland. Serving as cross bearer will be Nathan Maus and scripture bearer will be Kate Maus.
